In 2018, 630 projects from 58 countries were submitted to the Data Journalism Awards – the highest number of applications since the competition’s launch in 2012.
Out of the submitted entries, 99 nominations were made for this year’s shortlist. Congratulations to the selected projects and teams!
The winners of this year’s competition will be announced at the Data Journalism Awards 2018 Award ceremony, which will be held in Lisbon on 31 May 2018, during the GEN Summit 2018.
Simon Rogers, Data Editor at Google News Lab, is the director of the competition which takes place under the presidency of Paul Steiger, Executive Chairman of ProPublica’s board of directors. Marianne Bouchart is the manager of the competition. You can find a list of all jury members here.
